All save files on Linux should be locally stored within a "Default" folder at
This is likely a hidden directory, so you may have to do some tinkering to get there if necessary.

~/.local/share/frictionalgames/SOMA/

all I see are various imgui buttons under a default folder in a graphics folder. No other default folder pulls up except under a play on linux file that has nothing to do with SOMA.

Sounds like you're looking in SOMA's actual game directory. The save files are not within SOMA's directory, they are stored separately to SOMA entirely.

What file type are the save files? And why not just put them in a folder called "saves"?
There is nothing on my computer called frictional games
for some reason my file search is retarded. It would act as though frictionalgames folder does not exist.
For GOG linux mint users the file will be under home-> .local -> share -> frictionalgames -> main -> default
And the files will be .sav files, which my retarded search would not pull up, even with elevated privelges and hidden files turned on.

.local is a hidden folder, that might be why it didn't show up in search?

I had it set to show hidden files. Why wouldn't it search in them?
