So I recently beat Soma (and boy was it ever good,) and I decided I wanted to try out some of the large number of mods that I've seen in the steam workshop. But when I go to the mod launcher, either through the steam local files directory or directly through steam, I can see my computer launch the app for a fraction of a second and then it disappears without opening. I'm on OSX.

If anyone can help out, it'd be appreciated.
Check this location:

Code:
~/Library/Application Support/Frictional Games/SOMA

See if you find a Launcher.log and paste the contents. It might give a hint.

Will this be different if I have the game installed on a drive?

I checked in this location and through all of the folders, no Launcher.log

Same. I've been posting here and there for a shared technical issue: SOMA mod launcher (which once worked fine for me) suddenly stopped working on my Mac. The issue also affects other Mac users as evidenced by the posts on Frictional Games Support yet to date no fix. Frustrating in that these mods are really cool. As an aside, SOMA gameplay works fine.
I'm wondering if there's a chunk of file we can copy from the main game into the mod launcher. I remember reading that somewhere but I can't remember where. I don't know if the Mod launcher libraries have been fixed or not, but if there's nothing we can do on our end, I hope there's a patch released quick.
Could you go to the Steam folder which contains the SOMA executable on your Mac and let me know if there is a file called steam_appid there? It may be a .txt file or another similar file used by a Mac system.

I got to the SOMA folder, but no steam_appid of any kind is there, unless it's in one of the many folders. Screenshot of the folder attached. [attachment=6218]
Download my attachment and put it in your folder. It should be next to your normal Soma.app and Soma_NoSteam.app files. For some reason it doesn't always appear, but it's very critical for the game's operation.

I added it to the folder but the mod launcher still isn't running. The normal game was running fine though, only the mod launcher is giving me trouble.
