I already read the troubleshooting thread but didn't find my problem in it.
I just was at the part where Daniel remembers something (when he saw the blue light after he tried to get out of his trap thing). After (or still while) that "preview" I just see a black screen but the game isn't really freezed. I still can access the menu and I can hear the background sounds etc.
So what could that be?

btw. I'm using Windows Vista x32

So after I restarted the Game and it still happened that there was nothing like a "video sequence" (that one where you have to got to the blue light) I restarted again and this time I changed the order how I collected the journal entries. There are 3 journal entries from the journey to algeria, you find them in 3 different rooms like you know.
It seems as if it's important in which order you find them, because if you don't find the last one in that special room (it has no name actually), you gonna have a black screen.
I heard some other people complaining about this problem as well.
Just saying.

Have you tried updating the drivers for the graphics card, using nvidia.com? There are a lot of shader errors in the log that could be the cause.

My problem is already solved, I updated my drivers earlier than I posted my answer above.

I am getting this problem as well. Same place in the game. Just downloaded it today.

Running Mac, Snow Leopard with latest graphics drivers.
