After I played Amnesia, I went back and played the Penumbra series again. I was completely underwhelmed, only feeling a hint of adrenaline during sequences with the worm. Even when trying to get around the infected humans in BP, I didn't have the same kind of heart-pounding fear that I got in Amnesia. Eventually, I just stopped crawling around and ran through everywhere. The enemies are very simple to dodge and run past.
Has anyone else felt this way, that the games just aren't scary anymore?
After you realise you can generally out-run them or have died a few times it does get a little less scary, yeah. Not much you can do about that though, except.. get amnesia :O
I'm pretty sure somethings going to be less scary if you played it before.
If you play on easy it takes like 20 hits from the monsters to actually kill you, after i figured out that in my 3rd playthrough i just made a run for it :3

Anyways, playing on Easy is... well, too easy.
Enemies can hit you million times before you die and then they are very slow as well.
You mean people

Play on hard! It makes the scary scarier! DUH! I set it to hard before I knew how scary Penumbra was, back in the day. Now I know I would not have wanted to experience it any other way.
mm... i always play my games (the first time) on normal... it's just the "standard" anyway..
Amnesia is really freaky, yeah, but my pc doesn't run it so well...
