So i start the game, go through to "ok" and gamma setups at beginning, then the game gets really locked up at the profiles screen. i updated my drivers which fixed my initial crash problem but now i get to the profiles page, managed to create a profile but i cant do anything past that or choose a profile. game slowly gets brighter as if lagging then eventually shuts down.

any ideas?
ive gone to canyourunit and it looks like im more than capable, i lowered a bunch of settings and the game is now kind of responsive but choppy and laggy beyond the point of being usable. i'm hearing rumors that the new updated download of the game from frictional is buggy?

lol i just wanna piss myself in fear!! D=
ok so after fiddling around a bit i can get the game to actually go (very slowly) through the first sequence up until you can actually move Daniel around..however, the game is still extremely sticky even though my system requirments are far beyond minimum req.

is it just where i downloaded it? others are saying that downloading a pre patch version then updating it works just fine..links maybe?

unless you got it through steam then its already up to date.
You have the bare minimum required to play the game, so really all settings off and low resolution should be used. Also depending on what OS you are running, turn off all features that could fight over resources, such as Aero in Windows. Also turn off all browsers, applications and background process possible.

You don't have to re-download or apply any patches.
thanks, i'll give it a shot.
I am having the same exact problem. Intel HD graphics card. Updated everything. Drivers and all. I bought it on Steam. I still have a blank screen. on the main menu and when i start a new game. How exactly did you get yours working.?
You could try a program called Tune-up utilities
it has a "turbo" feature that runs your computer in performance mode for games
it disables anything that steals resources so your computer can focus on the game
Try the 30 day trial and see if it makes a difference. also as Jens said, run it on the lowest settings, and go from there, see how it looks.
Intel integrated graphics does not run the game at the moment, it might work in the future when Intel updates the drivers.
