Hi there,

I am still experiencing the ESC-Menu-Freeze Bug. As when pressing ESC, the Menu pops up and the game starts to freeze. I cant even tab into Desktop and i have to toggle sleep mode and wake my laptop up again in order to kill the task.

Furthermore, when applying the 1.1 update, after i try running the penumbra.exe, an error message window pops up stating that "vorbis_synthesis_idheader" could not be found in libvorbis.dll.


What can i do?

ATI Radeon HD 5850
4GB RAM
Reinstall the game and delete the "Penumbra" folder from your documents.
Apply the patch v1.1.
If you have still the problem, reinstall again and try the patch v1.0.3.

I have no problems, the game works fine.
I neither have a "penumbra" folder in my documents, nor in local, local low or roaming folders.

I did apply patch 1.1 but it didnt work.

Where do i find patch v 1.0.3? I took a look at the support site and I was searching google but only found the demo.

EDIT: Applied the DLLs found in that OS Support Thread, game is now crashing. Report found in Episode 1 User Folder:

EDIT 2: Just managed to get the game started after applying patch 1.1. Now it gets stuck at the "Loading..." Screen right after the intro video. After a short time, windows informs me about the fact that the process has crashed.

from where did you get the game?
I downloaded it from chip.de.

They distribute shareware / freeware software.
Es gibt kein Penumbra auf Chip.de!
Es gibt dort nur die Tech-Demo, sowie Demos zu Overture und Black Plague.

Ich glaube, du hast diese Tech-Demo geladen

und anschließend auch noch den falschen Patch installiert.
