Yep. Cool This is what makes polar settings in horror stories like Penumbra so appealing. If there's any place in the world where you can feel ridiculously isolated even today, it's the areas beyond the polar circles.

Honestly, I had no idea the cabin built by Scott's expedition is still standing today and in pretty good shape... after exactly 100 years. Exclamation

Also, South Georgia (though not as south as the Antarctic mainland, since it's closer to the Falklands) has a combination of great panoramas and decaying past settlements (mostly old whaling stations and fisheries) : http://www.sgisland.gs/index.php/(p)Phot...seskin=pho There's even a freaky wreckage of an old Argentine military helicopter that crashed on the island during the Falklands War in the early 80s. It's been lying there and rusting away ever since.
Very fascinating..

Maybe an inspiration for a custom story on the next engine (which would support outdoor environments some more..). Smile
