When I try to install overture, the set up goes fine until the part where it tries to install OpenAL. I get a pop up message that says "Unable to execute file: C:\Program Files\Penumbra\Episode 1\installtion\oalinst.exe
CreateProcess failed; code 740.
The requested operation requires elevation."

And then when I try to play Overture it says: "This application has failed to start because OpenAL32.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem."

I've tried re-installing several times with no luck. Any help is appreciated. I'm a complete noob with technical stuff too, so I'm sorry if there is a really obvious solution I'm missing.
Do you have retail version of the game or digital purchase?
I have the retail.
OK.
Find the OpenAL from the CD and install it alone.

See if that works.
I can't find it on the cd. I went through all the files. Is it listed under something other than OpenAL? Or is there another way I can get OpenAL from some other source?
Download it from openal.org. If this is the old Penumbra Overture CD it is likely a problem that the installer wants to run another installer, which is not allowed these days in Windows if not done in a correct way.
Oops... My bad!
It's not on the CD, it is in the folder you have installed the game (installation/oanlist.exe)
I downloaded it from openal.org and it works fine now! Thanks for your help you guys!
