When I start the game I can see all of the logos, the loading screens and all the words on the start page. What I can't see on the start page is the background (the stairs and the archway with the torches). It is ALL black, but the words are still visible. When I start the game, whether its new or loaded, I cant see anything on screen but the reticule, everything else is pitch black. I don't know what to do =/ please help.
Do you have Intel Graphic Card?
I have an NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M, but in the Device manager under display adapters I have a drive called Intel® HD Graphics Family.
gamma...

Gamma?
Nope, that's not it =/
Post the hpl.log file from My Documents/Amnesia/Main

Sounds like it is not using the nvidia card, rather the intel integrated, the hpl.log file will show if this is the case. You should be able to specify to use the nvidia card by making a profile for the game in the nvidia control panel.
I have the same problem, except I have Intel HD Graphics
Can someone help plss?
Intel HD graphics doesn't support the game. There is nothing Frictional Games can do here. Either you wish and wait for an Intel update, or change the graphic card.

I don't usually play non-console games, and am a bit confused about this (and I have the same problem with my Intel card). What do you mean by "doesn't support the game"? Is the graphics card too low-quality to play the game, or is it another issue?

Also, is Frictional Games willing to give refunds for cases like this? I can't see buying a new graphics card just to play one game.
