Is there a way to destroy, make invisible or deactivate billboards?

Didn't find anything on it in script functions or forum search...

You attach the billboards to a light source and then you fade in/out the light

I have found how to fade in/out lights but how do I make such an attachment?

You select the billboard then there is a button called link to light or something similar, click it and then click on the light you want to link it to.
