When I launch Amnesia, everything is fine until I get to the main menu. I put everything on it's lowest setting and I still get a good lag. I've updated my computer and made sure that I didn't have anything going on in the background. My drivers need to be updated but my computer says they don't need to be. The only drivers I need to update are USB Human interface, my Internet adapter, high def. audio, and USB composite device but I don't think any of them are effecting the game. My computer can play Sims 3 without lagging but I don't know why a simple game like Amnesia would be such a problem. I have a 32-bit Windows Vista operating system with 2.00 GB. It's very frustrating to get a new game that you love but can't make it work properly. D:<
(sorry, I know this question is probably asked a lot but some help would be so nice.)

Edit: posted hpl.log if needed.
You have to download drivers from the manufacturers website, probably nvidia.com or ati.com and not use windows/microsoft update.

If you have a windows aero theme, try using a none aero theme while playing and see if that helps.
I downloaded NVIDIA Graphics driver version 266.58, took the aero theme off, and put it on its lowest quality but it still lags the same. Dx
What lags? Is the framerate choppy, or is the mouse just "behind"? If it's the mouse, try turning off vsync.

It's not just the mouse the whole game is a few seconds behind but the sound doesn't seem to be effected by it. Before I turned the quality down it was nearly 2 minutes behind.
It's an integrated card, so it is possible it can't really coupe with the game. Have you tried to use the lowest possible resolution?

I put it on it's lowest resolution and it works a bit better. I noticed that my processor is Intel Celeron but it has 2.00GHz, is this also effecting the game? What can I do to my integrated card to make the game run better?
As mentioned above, downloading all the possible newest drivers and shutting all unnecessary programs from the background and lowering the graphics to minimum.
That's pretty much everything you can do in the case of integrated graphics cards, since you really cannot replace it with new and even if you could, it would be way too expensive.

In the case of my integrated graphics card can't I just install another graphics card and tell my computer to ignore the integrated one?
Yes if you were to buy a compatible video card, you'd plug the monitor into that instead of the motherboards gpu, install the drivers for it and play the game.
