This is just a hypothetical question, but if Amnesia had Steam Achievements, what would you like to see?
Lightbringer - Light every candle and lamp in every map.
Me And My Shadow - help me out, lol can't think of one for this
Sadist - Touch/look at each of the six torture devices for more than 1 minute each. Perhaps attempt to sit on the Judas Cradle.
Blah that's all I can come up with right now xD I wanna hear your ideas!
Inevitably, someone will say "wahhhwahh that ruins immersion".... and that's okay =) Just coming up with some silly ideas xD
Perhaps make it so that achievements become available after one full playthrough to keep the immersion.
In my case at least I do not bother with achievements at the first playthrough.
Also, here are some I'd like to see if made possible.
Never there - Finish the game without getting killed by any enemy.
Out of luck - Get killed by any enemy in the game.
A bull in a China shop - Break (How many there are minus a little bit.) 50-150 Porcelain objects.
It's worth a try - Succesfully hit a Grunt's or Brute's head with any throwable object.
Keep the fire going - Collect all Lantern Oil in the game.
Fanboy/girl - Listen to all commentaries in commentary mode.
That's it for now.
I like those, made me laugh.
Adding to the list:
Tinder Spender: Use 50 tinderboxes in a single game.
This Isn't Penumbra: Try to bring out your glowstick by pressing "G". (I know, kinda silly, but achievements can be good for laughs too
)
Alternate Alternate Ending: Complete the game with all 3 ending options.
Can't Touch This: Successfully dodge an enemy attack 3 times in a row
Braindead: Play Amnesia for 24h non stop.
Lighten Up Your Mood: Stare at a light source for 2 minutes with your sanity at a low level.
Lick The Floor: Make Daniel go insane and throw himself to the ground.
Pet Lover: Feed the water lurker three pieces of meat.
Darkest Descent: Never light a single candle, torch or fire for the duration of the entire game.
Hide & Seek: Stay inside a closet for more than 5 minutes.
I Shouldn't Be Alive: Survive an encounter with a monster after being hit once.
Trying to think up a few goofy ones...
Perhaps each puzzle should have one in the first run through of the game, and I believe there is a puzzle where you have to find gears I believe, if so I though up a name for it.
Gotta move that gear up - Solve the <Name> puzzle. (Team Fortress 2 reference?
)
Other goofy ones:
Knocking on Hell's door - Witness an enemy break through a door. (First play-through.)
Eight-legged freak - Find the hidden spider. (I'd imagine an update to the game where the unused spider entity is hidden in a room which the player might easily miss.)
Kiss me! - 'Touch' a Grunt or Brute without them getting the chance to do damage to Daniel.
This isn't Half Life... - Obtain the crowbar. (First play-through.)
Elevation - Reach and use the elevator. (First play-through.) (U2 - Elevation reference.)
And gonna keep thinking of more... You asked for it! >:O
But I'm Not in the Closet... - Be killed by a grunt while hiding in a cabinet
These are all so awesome thank you xD
I especially like the 'Darkest Descent' one and 'Hide & Seek'.
'Blasphemer!' - Rotate a crucifix till its upside-down.
'What is this I don't even...' - Squeeze the flesh by the table in the wine cellar where Wilhelm and his buddies exploded.
and LOL @ 'But I'm not in the Closet'
Science class: Throw four items into the Acid barrel.
Kaernk Bait: Die to the Kaernk so many times it stops hunting you. (This is achievable by dying I think 4 times in the Cellar Archives. I wanted to scare my dad with this game, but I didn't realize he was so terrible that he would die so much xD)
Hey Look, It's Your Friend! Throw a piece of the ripped up grunt at the brute in the sewer, then escape.
Was that valuable? : Break 15 vases.
Aged Over 100 Years: Break 40 wine bottles.
Has That Always Been Like That? : Witness the insanity version of Alexander's portrait.

There's actually one instance I recall on a wall at the bottom of the spiral staircase. I believe it's an insane vision.
Lots of these are actually interesting. But I think they should remain hidden until they're discovered. The achievement system would probably need to be built into the game itself, rather than on Steam.
