I value story & atmosphere above gameplay, and AC1 has one of the best stories I've ever seen in a game. And after reading Alamut (the novel which AC is loosely based off) I appreciate the way the developers incorporated Hassan i-Sabbah's philosophy through the character of Al Mualim.

I also maintain that Altair is still the only proper Assassin of the series.
I like the way you think on that one Xanatos.
10.Conker's BFD. If you've played it, you know exactly why it's on this list.
9. Warcraft 3. Very enjoyable storyline, hero abilities, great graphics for the time.
8. WoW. Well, I spent 4000+ hours in it, so I have to give it something on this list.
7. Mass Effect 1. Combined RPG elements and TPS in clever ways, innovative conversation system
6. Doom. A technical masterpiece, and grisly as hell. Set the bar for years.
5. Half-Life 2. Set the bar for graphics/set pieces, Complete change in everything from original
4. Amnesia: TDD. Incredible atmosphere, macabre storyline/setting
3. Heavy Rain. A game that really makes the flow of choice and consquence seemless
2. Bioshock. One of the few games described as Art
1. Mass Effect 2. Take an amazing game, and refine everything imaginable
