I have a sony vaio FW290 laptop running on vista 64bit with an Ati Radeon HD 3650 gpu. I've troubleshooted and troubleshooted and have never been able to fix the upside down glitch in Amnesia the Dark Descent. Most of the screen is upside down except for a few things such as the fire of the torches and some shadows and other images. It turns rightside up when I turn the graphics up to max but the torchlight and the other objects turn upside down then. I've tried to download other drivers for my graphics card, I've tried downloading the mobility modder and that hasn't worked. I've tried all of the graphics settings and everything. Does anyone have any other ideas as to how I could fix this or is there any way that a patch could come out that fixes this problem?
I love you guys! Big Grin
Helped me a little bit but still I can't run the game...
I'm using windows 7 so I can't install the driver through add/remove programs.
Download the driver and double click on it?
Hope you forgive a repost - like me, I've read lots of people playing Amnesia on a ATI Mobility card (like my Asus G73JH laptop with HD5870 card) has the computer freeze within seconds of starting the game - often a black or grey screen, sometimes with vertical stripes.

I managed to solve this today for me using this guide by Gary Key.

Turns out it is not the fault of Frictional, it is the firmware on the graphics card.

If someone else can verify that it works for them, perhaps you could add it to the guide?
Is any idea make little program which checks MD5 hash of game files? Just little test button in Launch.exe.. And if some is not correct its lists them in log... ?

Or there is already some kind of this?
E: I think steam has this.
Ok, so I have a question.

I can get the game to run, and can hear all the audio as well as see all the text. However, the actual game won't appear, it just is black with a little white dot in the middle.
What should I do to fix it?

Oh yeah, and I have a Windows 7, with Intel HD Graphics card
Intel HD cards are below minimum system requirements.
I'd just like to say I fixed my problem [renderer #0 failed to initialize/crashes] by updating my HP bios, installing the latest openAL, and it was really fixed when I updated my driver from intel using their automatic program which determines if it's up to date [current], out of date, or valid [good enough]. so i was required to restart and VOILA it works. So happy.
