I see other threads like this but when the person who started the thread figures out the problem he/she never posts it, its just "Oh thanks anyways guys but i fixed it now". So i made my own.

Got it from the potato sack pack and when i try to launch the game it gives me that error. I've tried the troubleshooting things, and some random a** patchs (that i later deleted figuring out that they didnt work).

So if anyone has a fix for this problem PLEASE post it here. Sad
Try downloading and installing OpenAl from http://connect.creativelabs.com/openal/D...alinst.zip. Make sure that you have working sound output on the computer, that is so that you normally have sound (listen to music etc).

Yes i can listen to music and hear audio in other games. When i run the installation i press ok then a msg pops up saying installation complete like a nanosec later. Is that normal? Also still not working. Sad Confused

This is so annoying! I really wanted to play this game!
Everytime i validate the files theres always 1. when i check the download it says 0/0 bytes downloaded. download is complete tho... :|
When i click on the amnesia EXE through this one program (sorry forgot the name of it) it says the program contains no data. is this just from not being able to launch the game properly? (the game hasent got to load the actually game up so no data has been saved?)

Please help D: i would like to be able to play this before april 19th :c .
bump

(they said message was to short so i wrote this)

Not sure, maybe try updating drivers for the sound card or if you have more than one sound card try switching which one is the preferred.
