This might be an unknown bug or the most widely one known.

Take a box, or some other physics object in your hand in Amnesia, and place it between your face and the face of a monster which is chasing you, and the monster will not "see" you anymore, as it thinks you are hiding behind the box.

Has this issue been resolved?

They're not smart enough to think a floating box as a thread.
