I got the Penumbra collection and Amnesia off of Amazon. Started playing Amnesia last night but I got to wondering if I should play the 'Collection first? Thoughts?
My personal advice to you is to play Penumbra collection first. Since Frictional games have matured a lot, getting back to Penumbra from Amnesia might make you feel a little awkward.

Penumbra: Overture
Penumbra: Black Plague
Penumbra: Requiem
Amnesia: The Dark Descent

That would be the order to play. Still, it's your choice.
Hey, thanks! I'm a bit disappointed that surround sound doesn't work straight out of the box. I'm playing on WinXP w/Logitech Z-5500s and a Creative X-Fi super-duper card. But I'm guessing that I should be able to enable this easily by reading the 'game output log' file, and then editing the 'settings' file. That sound about right? Any hints?

edit: I guess I assumed before I got the game that part of the 'scary' was hearing things coming up behind you and stuff. Perhaps not?
Headphones. This game is made for them.
I haven't played any of Penumbra, though I watched Black Plague's LP and regreted it later onSmile(I would rather play it myself) But I'm not sure whether Penumbra is available in Poland...
Look in this thread if you want to get surround sound in Amnesia.
I played Amnesia first, then the Penumbra titles in their own order. I didn't think it was setback as Penumbra comes with it's completely different setting. If you don't care for super fancy graphics then I'd say the order doesn't matter.
Play the Penumbra titles. Don't even bother with Amnesia, because it won't work on certain drivers. Penumbra was easy enough to run.

Maybe you want to wait a bit longer for replies with possible solutions in the error thread?
I worded that wrong. I'll fix it.
