The title says it all, really. I've purchased and downloaded the Penumbra collection. I could safely extract the exe, but the .bin file--penumbra_collection_1.1-bin--is corrupt and fails to extract. Any ideas what this is about?
Corrupt download?
Download managers are recommended when downloading large files.
Why did you extract the .exe file? You shouldn't. The .bin file is locked/encrypted. Thats why you cannot open it. Run the main .exe file without extracting it and it should work. Smile
Okay, I thought I needed to because the setup wants to locate the .bin file (or insert a disk?) in order to finish. But I still can't figure out where it wants me to direct it to.

And, I thought files couldn't be run in compressed format and that's why they need to be extracted. But I'm finding I know less and less about how these things work.
Well did it work? It should.
It is correct, you need to extract the exe and bin before running the installer or else the installer will not be able to find the bin file. If it says that the bin file is corrupt it could be that the download is incomplete. Perhaps use a download manager, microsoft has a free program here http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/det...x?id=26214
As far as I know with .bin and .exe file at the same folder there should exist two files at least named for example setup-1.bin and setup.exe. Another example: amnesia-1.bin and amnesia.exe
