I've started work on a platform / puzzle map. There will end up being a few custom ents because certain objects don't have a precise enough collision box for some of the things I want to do.
Yeah custom entities are fine everyone, just don't include like 40 of them for your story XD
Works for me. That opens up my mapping potential quite a bit, then. :3
Having something like the central room from the custom story Wake for the hub would be epic.
I haven't played Wake in a while. I'll post a couple screens of the hub and take input on what should be improved/fixed though. One sec while I grab some.

Overview. As you can see, it's pretty much entirely undecorated so far. It needs to be functional and easily navigable first.

All of the doors are LevelDoors, and they are all locked (so the player can't accidentally call a nonexistent map). I'm thinking of putting signs next to them with authors' names (similar to the signs in Amnesia, which give translations when moused over). Is everyone OK with me stealing their forum avatars for this purpose? Mousing over the door will display the name of the level, rather than the author. This way, anyone who likes a certain developer's maps can find others by that developer easily (just look for the similar signs).

All in favor? Opposed? Anyone not want me to use their forum avatar, or want to change theirs first?
Avatars is a great idea actually! Go for it, I say!
Sounds like a great idea Phoroneus! Also the big courtyard leaves a lot of room for growth for future editions. I like it.

Exactly. Should make an underground part too. A little exploration to get to new maps wouldn't do any harm Smile

If you're going to go with a big map like that, consider making teleporters that teleport you to the middle, sides and corners of the map.
The skybox looks out of place.
