IIRC, it doesn't go into the maps' directory but into the custom story's directory.

no, if you put it into maps for debug, then it works as well ^^.

For example if you have map called: "mymap.map" and folder is
amnesia main/maps/mymap.map
then your inventory.hps can be
amnesia main/maps/inventory.hps
Then it will read your inventory.hps as well perfectly for debugging !!!
