wut concept art? tell meh!

When the ARG for AMFP happened someone actually accidentally got into FG's servers and found a lot of early concept arts for their secret project that weren't even supposed to be accessible and they got passed around to a lot of people. I doubt you'll be able to find them though cause pretty much everyone (that I know of) that got them either agreed to delete them or aren't active here anymore, and no one was even supposed to see them anyways. Anywho there's like a 2% chance jdog isn't full of shit so I'd probs just drop it, either way the mods wouldn't let him show it if it hasn't been officially released so there isn't much of a point.

I emailed frictional games and I asked if I could talk about it, I'm waiting for a reply, AND I AM NOT A LIAR!! I want to talk about it more than you know. If you read my posts, I said that its on a site connected to frictional games. I honestly have no idea why its there in the open like that. I didn't do anything shady to find it, I just did I bit of detailed searching in Google and that's it.

Also, Thomas has actually released information about the game at GDC 2013. He talked about it in his twitter, which means that there is now probably more content then what I found, and for a while I've just been searching for it because I am sort of convinced that they sort of expect someone to find it. Why else would you announce it on your public like that. Go to his twitter and search for the key word secret. You'll see what I mean.

Story of the internet.

Yes, even though if you check his twitter he says he was showing content to people. Don't take my word for it, actually GO look. Seriously guys, do a search on google for "Thomas grip super secret showing" and look at the twitter result. I am not a lying, it exists. What you have to ask yourselves is this. How did he show it? Was it online, or perhaps it was saved on his PC? It happened.

Here is the twitter post

https://www.google.com/#output=search&sc...80&bih=895

yeah, I'm a liar...sure. Like I said, wait till I get the response back (hopefully). It won't be for a couple of days though. They don't read the mail on weekends.

Well if it's really out in the open somewhere, like you say, I see no reason why you'd need their permission to talk about it. Simple as that. Unless you were - and this is purely hypothetical - just trying to get attention by talking nonsense... which of course isn't the case, amiright? Wink So really, I don't quite get what all the fuss is about - just post the stuff or leave it be. Jeez. -.-

RE: Frictional Games Super Secret Project Thread

Alright guys, I have gotten the response I was looking for and it seems like its safe to post. Here is the link.
http://www.aaronjclifford.com/frictional...Scene.html

Also, here is the concept art that showed up back during the Justine release, notice the similarities.
http://gamingirresponsibly.com/wp-conten...09/004.jpg

Also go Arron's twitter and look at the info about him, and notice what his job is and who hes in contact with.
https://twitter.com/aaronjclifford
When your on his twitter, read the conversation for his second post.

This is the email I got back from frictional games. I got a response from both Thomas and Jens to this link I sent them. Also, look closely at both their answers and compare it to their original response on redit when asked about the concept art.
http://www.reddit.com/r/IAmA/comments/k9...nesia_the/
When on that page, hit ctrl+f and type in "we have no idea" to find their original response to the questions about the concept art. Notice the big fat lie, lol Tongue. *clears throat* Now, if you excuse me, my work here is done. I must go treasure hunting. Farewell.

Hi,

thank you for your concern! Those images are from a work test Aaron did
and not from the "super secret game. There were probably 5 or so artists
more that did the same "tunnel scene".

Cheers,

Jens

Hi,

This was just an unrelated work test Aaron did for us. He got a very
vague concept art picture to work from and this was the result.

Thanks for showing it to us though!

Cheers,

Thomas

I think we're done here.

Cool stuff, anyways.

The question is if none of that was important, why would they deny that concept art being theirs on redit, that's the question I ask. That concept art and that scene are connected. Look at the top left picture in the concept art. Its obvious that its they are from the same kind of scene, why would they deny the content being theirs originally if it didn't matter like they claim in the email? I think means something and there is more to be found. Also, if you look at Arons profile on linkedin, if you look at the amount of time hes been working for frictional games, and trace it back to their blog hiring posts. They were asking for the environment artists to sent in their resume during that time for THEIR NEXT GAME. So that test IS A TEST RELATED TO THE PROJECT, FOR SURE. If 5 other artists were asked to make a scene based of that, they want to see how each artist approached that scene because they wanted to see how well each one of them would created the type of environment they wanted to have in their game. That's why they denied that concept art was theirs, because its more important than it seems, I'm willing to bet so much on that. Why else would they deny it, and then claim that its nothing for us to be thinking about. Just think about it. You have to remember these people make puzzle games, they are VERY GOOD at knowing how to guide peoples thoughts and they are probably JUST as good at misleading people.

You're looking too far into this man.

They created concept art that I'm assuming got scrapped (why they're saying it's not important), and they figured they could use it as a way to test how good people that they're considering hiring are by telling them to model the scene.

Yeah that's possible, too. But, hey, its really fun to speculate right? Isn't that why this thread even exists? lol Tongue. I'm not about to deny what your saying though is a definite possibility, this is mostly just speculation obviously. But you got to admit, what they said was shady and inconsistent.

FG doesn't strike me as a company that would lie, seeing as they are experts at keeping secrets.
