He could just disable the effect from options.

I've disabled sanity effects as well as the blue light you emit when there's low light. Definitely a design choice Tongue When you have a flashlight it doesn't matter if it's pitch black as you can still see - however it does mean you can see alot less around you which is great for horror games in my opinion Big Grin

As for having lights, I'm most likely going to have this area in pitch black with no lights at all. It definitely looks better in game, still messing around with the use of light of course!

Particle effects - haven't made new ones yet, but dust is most definitely going to be used here Big Grin

Not much special.
What I see is a default window, with some nice billboards and a desk beside it. There's a corner of the bed, in the front, but that doesn't play a big role.

I find it weird how less light the window emits. Haven't you thought that too? Think about real life. I only have 1 window in my room. Still in the afternoon, with no light's outside, no corner is pitch black!

If you have a window, think about how much light it shows.

Looking at the level editting there isn't much to say. It's not something special. If you were to show something special about your design, either point it out, or show a full room, instead of just a corner of it. Smile

Trying is the first step to success.

Try using a box light in the room, If you think about it, the window would like up the entire room, but only use about a 0.2/0.3 box light, see how it goes, turn it down or up, and compare them till you get the perfect blend.

Exactly. The lightest color will always be near the window. So make some blooming colors near the window, let them fade, as they get further away, have a boxlight around the room, or maybe even around the whole map... I'd start at 0.05 / 0.05 / 0.05

Trying is the first step to success.

You beat me to it! :p

Just to add to this, you can make the difference in brightnesses by putting in point lights. I usually use 3 in increasing radius and decreasing brightness (radius of 2.5 and original brightness, radius of 3.5 and half original brightness, radius of 5, half as bright as second light)

Edit: let me know if I need to reword what I said c:
