About Russian localization...

Just watched some footage from the video of one Russian LP, which played AAMFP with Russian subs... and I can say, that this translation is just horrible! It seems like it was translated by "Google Translator" - the verbs in one note are wrong, nouns are strange and even in the date there was a mistake (1989 year)! I know, that translation has been done by Shentloc, but Frictional, can you do something with it? It's so awful, after perfect Russian localization of the first Amnesia to see such unprofessional work!

Correction: TDD benefitted a good Russian localization (with dubbing). It was different for the other languages (such as French) whose translations were more than amateurish...

Wll, yes, but FG could give the game to more professional translator studio instead this... Shentloc. You should check another translations too, i think there are also mistakes. Otherwise... it's just spitting in the direction of all Russians fans.

We will definitely collect user feedback on the translations and take it up for discussion with the translators!

Amnesia was translated (and published) by Snowball, whom as far as I know are (were) notorious for their perfect translations.

I also recognized one (or two, don't know if this is attributable to the poetic aspect) mistake(s) in the german translation (a note from a footage video was written in german).

Hope you'll do something with it before the 10th of September!

Just an example of translation (warning, contains phrases from first note):
Spoiler below!

"What came from the heart lubricated us".
They translated it as:
"What run away from the heart became a grease for them"

I don't know, maybe it's just some poetic stile, but sounds quite weird.

RE: About Russian localization...

I'm Russian, so, I'd like to help you with translating :3 Especially, I'm a Custom stories creator (for ~1.5 years), so, I know how to use HPL Lang tool and others. A:TDD was translated very pretty. Really. I have no idea why some game makers do not want to take people who speak the language they want to translate the game. For example, in the CallOfDuty, one of the most popular games, they couldn't translate their airport's company name to russian. It called "Fly" (by air, "Полёт"), but they've translated it like a "Муха", "Fly" (a bug). It made a lot of laugh from russian auditory. Smile

"Blyad" can be translated in two variants:
1) Whore (job)
2) Shit, damn or like any other words which can descript a "bad" situation.

So, Let'sPlayers uses it in second way. But anyway, its a foul language.

Я думал, если и дальше будут вылезать такие ошибки в локализации и разрабы не исправят их, можно будет сделать нормальный фан-перевод. Ты в ВК есть?
