Solved: 8 Years, 1 Month ago Driver won't update
I got the Black Box error, and followed the directions to the hpl file and saw that I needed to update my driver. Tried that, and the AMD Display Driver failed to update. Can't figure out why. If you have any suggestions, I would greatly appreciate them.

hpl file is attached.

Thanks.

What graphics card do you have and what operating system. Also 32-bit or 64-bit?

You must be using the stock Windows drivers which do not include OpenGL support.

I used the link you sent me, but had the same problem. This is what the log said:

AMD Display Driver
Final Status: Fail
Version of Item: 8.970.100.7000
Size: 90 Mbytes

Everything else installed fine, but it still doesn't work.

You can try a clean reinstallation of drivers after removing the microsoft ones. Download DDU and the driver I linked above.

Follow THIS guide after step 2 (search google on how to enter Safe Mode in Windows 8, not the same as Windows 7 or earlier).
