I guess the main difference between Shodan and The creatures in SOMA, is a lot of them started off as people, or think they're people.

Shodan knows exactly who she is and she certainly wasn't born biological.

I played it on normal difficulty and I would say that it's rather hard, not just in the sense that the enemies do a lot of damage and resources are rare, but the game will punish you for not planning ahead (I had to give up because I didn't have any JHP rounds to deal with the late game creatures). It's still a fun and immersive experience, so I recommend it. And you can always play on the easy difficulty.

Still hasn't gotten over the loss of wubwub...

It's weird that i still think that
Spoiler below!
Simon is a machine or virtual intelligence or something like that... I just think he can't be real. Well he can but we will see.

The question that will never be answered:
SOMA WHY ARE YOU SO BEAUTIFUL? ;_;

I don't think so, it would be too much of an obvious thing for FG to do, there must be some twist...

Also, I'm making a thing...

I would probably be right there with you in agreement, but....

Spoiler below!
1.) Simon has his memories (apparently ) but doesn't remember HOW he got to Pathos 2. This is congruent with the robot abominations that populate Pathos 2 (and the ones observed in Mocking bird and Vivarium)

2.) When immersed in water without his suit, not only does Simon survive, but his vision distorts and he sees his arms and hands are different (and also having the same cyan glowing nodules that the growths caused by the structure gel have.

Remember...... The robot abominations see only what they want to see (specifically that they are still human ). i postulate that maybe Simon is the pinacle of what the dark forces destroying Pathos 2 have been trying to achieve.

Maybe when his vision distorts, he is seeing the "real him" ( am I still in there ? Am I like Raznik?)

I think that being in the water, in the crushing drowning depths of the water, confuses Simons programing (or whatever ) which makes him see things the way they really are.

All conjecture.....and speculation. And as sound as I think my theories are, I do agree that even if Simon is a synthetic being, I'm sure there is more to it than that.

Scavenge this thread, it shouldn't be hard to find, also look in Frictional's Twitter.
