[Gamebreaking bug] Game crashes at end of TAU every time

At the end of TAU, when I have put the ARK down and attached the crane to it and the flooding of the room malfunctions. There are three pipes that you have to pull loose, it always crashes when pulling the third pipe.

I have tried validating game cache with steam as suggested in the troubleshooting guide but it didn't work. When pulling the third pipe the game freezes and the mouse icon becomes visible, if I click the screen goes black and then the game closes with a generic crash message from windows.

I'm 12 hours into the game, I really don't want to start over and go through all that adrenaline pumping hell again. I uploaded the hpl.log but I can't upload the save file since it is too big apparently.

- Windows 7 64-bit
- AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition Overclocked @3.4GHz
- Nvidia GeForce GTX 760
- 8GB RAM

The recent game update fixed this problem, I can now continue being scared to death.

It would be great if you could upload the save file somewhere so we can make sure they next patch fixes the issue

Im having problems with this too, and no the new patch doesnt fix this issue.. it persists exactly the same way as this guy wrote.. i dont know how he fixed it but it didnt fix it for me!

And attach the latest save file starting with "AutoSave_4_3..."

The file is much too big to do it here.. how do i do it then? its like 955 kilobytes.

I don't think it's the size that is the problem, but it might not like the file extension. If possible, try to use an archiver to create a .zip file of it. I think those work.

For some reason this bug stopped happening after the latest update, it almost crashed but it unfroze after 1 second and continued playing. Here is my save file anyways so you guys can take a look and hopefully help out others.

That's strange, it started working for me after the latest update. I uploaded my save file anyways so they can take a look at it and hopefully figure this out so you can continue playing as well. I unmarked my reply as best answer for the time being and will mark a better answer if one shows up.

There will be patch later today or tomorrow that should fix this. So please just wait a lil longer and hopefully your save game should be possible to load.
