SOMA Steam early crash

Solved: 8 Years, 1 Month ago SOMA Steam early crash
Hello,

I've just purchased and downloaded the steam version of soma. When I click play, I get the "play or launch mod" menu. When I click play, the dialog box disappears, but soma never launches. It isn't getting far enough to create the .log file in My Games.

Is there any other information I can provide to help look for a fix?

Radeon 7970 with the most recent drivers, i5 3770k.

Thanks,
Will

I have also tried the beta build - no dice Sad

I have my steam library on a different HDD to my boot drive if that's relevant.

Also, I'm on Win10. Here's my dxdiag.exe output: http://pastebin.com/raw.php?i=TpPz7NaG

If you are not running the beta, try swithcing to it and see if it helps.

Right-click SOMA in steam, properties, beta tab and select from drop down menu.

I am running the beta. No change.

This is the closest thing I have to a trace if it's helpful: http://i.imgur.com/0aMzW6b.jpg

Googling the -1073741515 and taking it as an unsigned int leads to 0xC0000135L, which seems to be an error code for a missing .NET runtime (http://stackoverflow.com/questions/11432...pplication).

I've uninstalled and reinstalled all the .NET/VS C++ runtimes I can, but still no luck.

If I try to launch the executables directly, I still get the VCOMP100.DLL error.

HEYYYYYYYY, I could have sworn I'd tried it already, but this redist fixed my problem: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/...x?id=14632

Hopefully this helps anyone else on windows 10 with the same problem!
