Solved: 8 Years, 1 Month ago Cannot install

Hi,
when i try to install the sh file ( from GOG )
I receive this error in terminal:

Verifying archive integrity... All good.
Uncompressing SOMA (GOG.com) 100%
Collecting info for this system...
Operating system: linux
CPU Arch: x86_64
trying mojosetup in bin/linux/x86_64
USING en_US

PANIC
Initial setup failed. Cannot continue.

Error: Couldn't run mojosetup

So I cannot install it ( and play)

My specs: UBUNTU 15.04 - NVIDIA 760GTX
I have all other frictional games in steams and everything works well...

Can you help me ?

Thank you

Could be that the temp partition does not have enough free space. I think you can do a --help and then there is a command you can use to specify your own temp location to use during installation.

Hi,
the temp folder /tmp is in the main partition, I've free 50GB of space on my 256GB SSD

I try to run with --targhet and I can set a target folder, but the problem remain.

The Soma SH file is an self-extracting file.
I discoveret that also with AMNESIA some users had same problem and resolved extracting the SH with command "unzip ./Amnesia*.SH", but unzip do not accept the Soma*.sh file.

I also download again the 11GB from GOG, but the problem remain.

Any suggestion ?

Thank you

I'll google around a bit for amnesia installer solutions to see if I find anything. Also, contact GOG support and ask them to help with the installer.

OK maybe it has to do with the locale, thinking it ends after saying it is going to use en_US.

Check these threads:
https://www.frictionalgames.com/forum/th...SING+en_US
https://www.frictionalgames.com/forum/th...SING+en_US

So perhaps using these tip:

LANG=en_US ./PenumbraCollection-1.0.sh
or
DISPLAY= LANG=en_US ./PenumbraCollection-1.0.sh

on the SOMA installer might work?

No, It didn't work.
My $LANG is it_IT.UTF-8 , but even if I try to set LANG=it_IT.UTF-8 , will not works.

Now I will try to install LINUX MINT to another new partition for understand if it is a problem of a corrupted S.O. or a language bug.

Hi, I try to run the install from another LAPTOP with UBUNTU 15.04 and from a fresh installation of MINT 17.2 but I have always same error....

Maybe the problem is the language? In the error I read that installation file use the en_US... hope this problem will be fixed soon Smile
