RE: Just finished Amnesia and....

I absolutely loved Overture. Now this in my own opinion, but in terms of storyline, Penumbra went a little downhill in Black Plague. Overture was about a professor who was on a quest to look for his father, a realistic quest. I always liked the fact how he wasn't a buff, cool, amazing hotshot like in most adventure and/or horror games. In Black Plague, I really disliked the fact about (Spoiler) how there were aliens and even demons, possibly, due to one of the quotes of the big giant voice at the end, which went totally off-track of the plot of Overture, and mines were a much better setting, rather than some big giant underground facility. Black Plague was fun and scary, but with the arms sticking out of the walls and all the bloody, gory, plain stuff you expect out of a sequel to a horror film/book/video game. Meh, just my own opinion, I think Overture was far better.

@CharlieSketch

I totally agree with you.
Overture was the best part. But you should not think, that there are aliens in Black Plague. First time I thought the same, but now, they don't look like aliens for me.
But you have right, realistic enemies like dogs or spiders are better.
And Overture has the most of puzzles!

The Tuurngait in the end and his mutant voice seemed not more part of Penumbra. But he told something about your collective consciousness. Greedy and selfish human in the world - he have right. And the game should give you a message for your life.

You only have to understand the content of this part. Then it is fantastic, but it looks a bit science fiction and that is very worse.

Overture was the most realistic part without minds and mental realm.
Overture was better, but Black Plague is also good.

Well, the point of what was said above is that one would know the order of the games if they knew what an Overture/requiem is/means.
