RE: Blender Reflection Texture - Statyk - 02-06-2013 I got my ice material by making a ~90% transparent grey image, set the type to translucent in the material (Blend = Alpha), set the normal map to the default water normal map (this was for an icicle though. for a crystal, you might have to tone it down or use another normal map to make it smoother), and added some refraction. Spoiler below!

I can't seem to open the cubemap in the material editor (I can open it in the bottom right, but the actual material name is still "untitled" so it's not like I really opened it I think. I'm still not exactly sure what it's for.) Opening up the .dds file in notepad gives a load of encrypted garbage. Don't see anything in the .mat file. I changed the variables at the bottom to "0", didn't do anything. RE: Blender Reflection Texture - Your Computer - 02-07-2013 In the HPL2 material editor, at the bottom, you'll see WaveSpeed, WaveAmplitude and WaveFreq. Set those to 0. Not having a cubemap isn't much of an issue, but it does add a nice fake reflection to the model which is only really noticeable if the player camera is moving. |
