Have you tried disabling both vSync options? Also, is your AMD catalyst control panel set to defaults? What soundcard do you have(you can see that in the HPL.log where is says OpenAL default)?

I am using Plantronics USB headphones with an integrated sound chip. I have tried the other two audio devices in my PC also (HDMI audio and onboard sound). Doesn't help, the game still stutters.

But I don't have audio stutter at all anyway, only the graphics stutter.

In TDD. When you pull out the lantern the game hitched as well if you were on a older computer. I don't know what that's about

Yes, of course it is not good that there is this issue. But chances are there is no patch possible to make, as the problem might most likely be with hardware/software conflicts or potential issues outside of the game.

Try to shut everything down possible, definitely do not leave the browser open in the background, turn off antivirus, steam overlays, hardware accelerated aero themes and what not.

I have an SSD and 8 cpu cores. My gfx card is not the best, but there definitely is no interference or weak hdd performance.

Anyhow, rather than play a game of "guess the culprit" with you, please answer me this simple question:

Are you actively working on reproducing the problem, so you can start working on a fix? Yes or no on that one?

Am I seriously the only one who's having this mouse issue after I installed the patch? Everyone else's mouse input settings work in the menus?

The framerate is damn fine now but I can't play the game if every time I have to read a note or am in the menu I have to deal with this frustration of having such a slow mouse pointer.

Lets hope so. Not like it's hard to get your hands on a system (like mine) that is having problems.

RE: Stuttering, Small freezes and framerate Issues - w1cked313 - 09-14-2013

Guys I'm really at a loss to what is going on here:

From the beginning, my first install and run of the game it plays fine, there is no stutter at all. If I wait the next day and continue the game, it stutters every second when walking, and every half second when running. I have uninstalled and re installed the game several times and continue to experience it. So I wouldn't be able to play this game unless I plan on doing so in a single playthrough. This is the only game I experience this with.

I've installed patch 4 with MaxChannels="48" StreamBuffers="6" StreamBufferSize="32768

my specs are:

i7
12gb ram
win 7
realtek onboard audio (uninstalled realtek so using default audio)
Gefore GTX 670

RE: Stuttering, Small freezes and framerate Issues - w1cked313 - 09-15-2013

So I tired using patch 4 which seemed to be the most stable for me. At first when I implemented it the game ran fine. I went to restart my computer and am back at the constant stuttering. Not going to troubleshoot this any further, hopefully months down the line a patch or graphics driver can be released.

RE: Stuttering, Small freezes and framerate Issues - jens - 09-15-2013

You have to either start a new game with the new main_settings. Or you have to play the game with your old profile but main settings modified in My Documents AND to complete the current level (with stutter) and have the next level load before the stutter will go away. The problem fixed is related to saved games, where cache sounds would be "uncached" when loading a save. The new exe fixes this issue, but for it to work you can not load a saved game and get the improvement.
