There's a difference between one's sexuality and one's fetishes, saying what gender you're attracted to isn't any sort of a confession, but in most cases fetishes are considered to be abnormal, so it's reasonable to say that that would be a confession. Penumbra is very scary and the story is much better than ATDD (imo and others).
