map not loading and unable to test - reptalol - 10-08-2011
Hi, sorry if this is a novice question or something that has already been answered as i'm fairly new to this :O. But i followed the guide here:http://wiki.frictionalgames.com/hpl2/amnesia/devenvguide and whenever i try and test my map, i get an error that says i was unable to load my map. Any idea what could be causing it?

Does it give you exact error: "unable to load my map"

The error says: FATAL ERROR: Cannot load world file /custom_stories/map/test.map. It's quite strange it worked perfectly on my friends pc.

make a folder called 'test' within the custom_stories folder. In your 'test' folder make another folder called 'maps' and in that folder, you want to paste your test.map in.

Oh. Problem is in your location then. You need to have it maps directory of main directory, bnot in custom_stories and url must be direct.
So if it is maps/mystory/chapter1/test.map
then location must be: mystory/chapter1
and map name test.map
But yeah, your location should be in wrong place
