The game is bought from Steam, right? Do a file integrity check and try again. If this fails too, this is a steam issue.

Not sure, perhaps re-install, maybe even re-install steam. Or try and delete any of the steam files called blob or whatever it is that is usually recommended to be deleted when steam is acting weird.

if that doesnt work, try reinstalling steam, save your steamapps folder if you want to keep the games installed

Yeah sorry for late reply had some IRL stuff come up suddenly
But anyway I deleted this Blob file you guys told me to delete but it did nothing

Found the reason why it wouldn't start
Also this should be put on the main Thread of how to run it
Go to this C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\amnesia the dark descent or where ever your main file is
then go to launcher.exe right click then go to properties then go to compatibility then run in windows xp service pack 2 and it should run
