Model Editing - The Rock Worm - 01-21-2012

Can the Frictional Games HPL Model Editor allow me to customize Amnesia/Penumbra monsters (like adding extra limbs/tentacles/etc)?

If not, then what model editing program would work and be able to export the *.dae file to the HPL Model Editor?

No "modelling" like such can be done in the HPL2 model editor. That would require something like Maya 2011 (2012 does not support OpenCollada), Blender, or 3DS Max. I prefer Maya the most. =]

I haven't tried, nor have, Maya 2011. I've tried the Blender I have, but encounter problems when it comes to the monsters that are imported to it (such as making the Infected from Penumbra resemble a stretched Mr Fantastic).

I'll have to see if Maya 2011 or 3DS Max will work, thank you. Now if Frictional Games could make an HPL3 Model Editor that you could do modeling, then that would be even better.

No offense, but pretty much what is said here =P

The model editor is used to view the model and apply features to it, such as making a door model work as a door, or an enemy model work as an animated enemy, or a model work as a puzzle piece.

While my story (can be read here: http://www.frictionalgames.com/forum/thread-12704.html) uses mostly standard Amnesia stuff, I do have plans for new monsters that require changes to actually be the new monster.

Also, this is my 100th post! Big Grin
