Amnesia Doesn't Scare Me... - Vithcommalobsel - 02-09-2012

But that doesn't mean it isn't fun as hell. I think the monsters are, dare I say...cute and funny. Please see this video for details.

We may have differing definitions of the term 'cute'

Have you tried playing alone, with a high quality headset, in the dead of night with no lights on?

Well if you have done what Palistov said and still no scare effect, then please go to a doctor to have your brain checked. No offence intended. This is just disturbing.

I bet that before even knowing what Amnesia is he spent a week or two browsing all of those cute little snuggable and huggable animu chibi grunts and brutes all over the internet and then he thought that hey where are these things from. Then he played Amnesia and those cuties seen before had already burned on his retinas and he saw hallucinations of them all the time while playing. And now he thinks the real Amnesia monsters are cute. Obviously.

I'm rather impressed, though curious as to whether or not it's from having balls of steel or just plain out immune to amnesia's fear

Yeah, that's how I play it...it still doesn't scare me.

Both. I'm just a "balls of steel" kind of guy, and the monsters just aren't threatening in this game. You can either outrun them, stand in a corner in plain view, or throw stuff at them and ske-daddle. Any of the three keep them from killing you. Not scary.

I dismiss the all too popular "balls of steel" claim on the grounds that you simply haven't immersed yourself in the game properly.

Likewise I CAN play through Silent Hill 2 and not find it eerily disturbing if I don't commit myself seriously to the story and claustrophobic atmosphere.

This game is scary..but I wasn't as scared as all my friends were. It is way too easy to hide from the monsters. I actually ended up NOT using tinderboxes because the darkness was much safer.

1. I play the game in the pitch black dark with surround sound headphones and nobody in the house at like 3 in the morning. And yet I still don't find it scary.
2. SH2 isn't scary either.
3. Fatal Frame is fucking scary
