custom level editor for amnesia? - csstener - 05-30-2012

Hello my friends, is there an other level editor than the one that can be found on the wiki http://wiki.frictionalgames.com/hpl2/tools/start
beacuse(well sory for my speak) it sucks pretty much and no its not beacuse i'm new to makking maps/levels i have used the source sdk and udk a lot. but the way you control the hpl2 editor is just bad.

so any suggestions??

No, there is no other level editor available, and the only thing (in my eyes) that's missing from this editor is a preference window for keybindings.

kk, but it would be nice if they made it like source sdk or udk. Blush
and there is nothing missing its just irritating to control the camara, it looks at a camara spot it would be better if there werent any camara spot and you could just look around freely(like in source sdk)

They made it to their preference. The control scheme is very similar to that of Autodesk's Maya program, which I believe is what they used to make their assets for the game. They tailored it to their liking, while the SDK and UDK are more popular development kits.

Keep in mind that HPL is a way more basic engine compared to Source and Unreal, it doesn't need an editor as complex.

He wasn't asking for more complexity, just more comfortable controls.

They're plenty comfortable, it's just a matter of getting used to them.

In the HPL Editor there are 4 buttons, the one with two letters, I think 'lt' that to move around freely.

Was pain in the ass at first for the first couple days but got used to it.

The level editor interface may not be very flexible in many aspects, but after you get used to it, you'll be happy with what you work with as long as it gets the job done.
