Need help with custom lever - The chaser - 09-12-2012

Hi everyone!
So, my CS needed a custom lever. And I made it. But every custom thing always gives problems. The problems are the following ones:

-The lever base moves with the handle.
-It doesn't move up to down, it moves left to right. (An axis problem, but where's the F***ING axis option?)

I checked the joint, the bodies, but there's something that escapes from my knowledge. I'm sure that is something wrong in the joint (hinge).

Here is the lever (I know, it's very basic, but it's a lever.)

As always, it will be very silly, because I always find complicated things but I fail at simple.

Have a nice day!

Were the meshes separate in the 3D model program before you exported? Did you create two bodies, one for the base and the other for the lever? Did you attach the bodies to the intended meshes? Did you properly parent the base to the joint and made the lever the child of the joint? Is the entity a lever type?

RE: Need help with custom lever - The chaser - 09-12-2012

Yes, in Blender they were separate. The body (base) is parent in the hinge joint and the body of the handle is the child.
I fixed the body, now the base doesn't move. Now I only need to know how to change the axis and I will be done.
The body mesh didn't have a body because in the lever_nice01 the base mesh didn't have a body. And yes, it is a lever in User Defined Variables.
Sorry for bad english Sad

Joints tend to have a white arrow to them in the editor. This helps you figure out how it would turn and in which direction the body will go in. Rotate the joint until it works for you.

I'll see, then.

I just rotated the model and it works. Thanks for answering, anyway.
