I think the problem with it was the price vs gameplay. Had it been cheaper, it probably would've gotten a better rep. It was nice, but honestly, I would rather have spent it on a game I'd be able to play more than once and longer than an hour.

RE: seen this - "Anna" - Kreekakon - 09-29-2012

I don't think price would affect it too much. Sure it would cause an opinion on the worthiness between the price, and game outside of the actual review, but when I get down inside the game to actually think about it, my opinion on game quality will mostly be unaffected by the corresponding price.

I would get pissed if I paid a ton for a bad game, but that's basing the relevance of the price to the game, and not imprinting the price onto the game quality itself as one of the "judges".

RE: seen this - "Anna" - the dark side - 09-29-2012

i get cross at a bad game no matter what the cost. i can get cross with a 5 pound rental if a game is bad, because ive wasted my money, so i feel like a schmuk, and i dont like that, no matter what scale of monetary loss is implied.

I state that a bad game is a bad game, no matter if its a $60 AAA blockbuster or a $5 indie experiment. it makes the devs look incompetant, it makes the industry look even greedier than ever, and it makes anyone who spends even a penny on them look like a schmuk, its just not acceptable, there really needs to be tighter controlls to stop these half baked bad games being made.

Strangest part?

Esc didn't open the menu! I didn't know how to close the game.

F1 opens the menu for some reason.

Price doesn't change the quality of a game or its worthiness of existence. It just makes sort of an illusion that equates how much people are willing to pay with those two qualities. Whether you paid $60 or $10, the game is the same.

I got Anna for free, and it was just as bad as it would have been if I'd paid money for it.

The devs said that there was some kind of problem with the esc key (during development), so that's why it switched over to F1. The recent patch fixes that, though.
