I know a left handed friend, and the way he plays his games is that he crosses his arms, and operates WASD with his right hand, and the mouse with his left.

Once you're used to that position, it won't be a problem.

I would personally just place the mouse to the left, and play using the arrow keys if I would be left-handed. But it's quite the opposite for me, but I use WASD there (right-handed).

Personally I would use PLÖÄ. It's closer to shift with my keyboard.
lol, these sound so random. Big Grin

What kind of keyboard is that?

Finnish multilingual.

So you're right-handed, as it looks like. I think it may have been a bit difficult to get used to that. Unless it came naturally to you.

Yes. I think my hands are rather small (or maybe they are standard, don't really know), so IJKL makes my wrist hurt since I'll have to stretch my pinky so much to be able to use the right shift on this keyboard. PLÖÄ are much closer to right shift and it feels more natural.

I am personally used to WASD. When I was very young, I used the arrow keys, which were quite "not in proper place".

I have no idea how I played that way. But if I try to play with arrow keys, my head goes "BOOM!" on me.

I remember Robby playing "NFS: Hot Pursuit" one day (I was there). But he had that "wheel" and "pedal" thing that works like in a real car.

And personally, WASD goes to me. I can play with arrow keys too, but I'll have to mirror the direction of the mouse (change from right to left).

EDIT: Wasn't there another post here by Scraper?

Children see things differently.
If you are a child playing racing, first-person or top-down game, it is more logical for them to use the arrow keys. They are, most likely, already familiar what they mean instead of huge ammount of letters which are not even in alphabetical order.
