Custom model don't show up in model editor or viewer? - Yoilickturtles - 04-07-2013

Hey, so I have made a lantern with cinema 4d and I have textures to it and it looks really nice for something ive made :p

But how do i get it to show up in the model editor or moder viewer? its in dae format and i use import mesh and it works to import it but like I said, i cant seee it... help?

You'll need a .mat file.

Okey, i will try it. And the texture has to be in .dds right? or can i have a jpg?

The textures should be in DDS.

import mesh is a feuture in the model editor and not in the model viewer as far as I know. the model viewer is the correct tool to use first when importing assets as it will generate a .msh for you and depending on your settings also a .mat file(s).

Depends on what you want to do, this is fine with static objects, but you don't want a generated .msh file for an entity.
