Seriously, guy throws a huge ass tantrum, proving that he is the god-king of game development(/s), and somehow he is still relevant.

The Chinese Room is more than just Dan Pinchbeck. And while his forum posts were unprofessional, getting upset over something he's passionate about isn't the most unreasonable thing in the world. It doesn't change his work in any way, either. I'm still a huge fan of their style.

Indeed. For me, the best thing about The Chinese Room is Jessica Curry, and the new track sounds absolutely gorgeous:

Pulvis et umbra sumus
Omnes pulvis stellarum sumus
...

Yes, I'm a sucker for lyrics sung in Latin. Heart

I'll probably never get to play the game if it remains PS4 exclusive, but I'll definitely buy the soundtrack.

I have to admit I look forward to this. From what I figured out from the first trailer, I think this game is going to about a nuclear holocaust, the protect and survive psa playing in the background of first trailer and the thing on the computer to me seems like somebody trying to prevent it from happening.

Jess rules, TCR should have her do all of their PR. And although Dan has butted heads with a few of us over AAMFP, I still think he's an excellent writer, and I still love Pigs, and I still wish they'd release EGttR on the PC.

Jessica Curry makes some amazing stuff but it doesnt fit for a horror game, atleast in my opinion.

It's all dramatic, loud and fancy. I prefered Mikko's more "ambient" tracks rather than feeling like i'm in a grand concert hall

RE: Everybody's Gone To Rapture Announced - Nyarlathotep - 06-14-2014

I don't dislike Mikko's tracks at all. But Pigs' soundtrack was excellent, and much more memorable for me. I think her work is perfectly fine for horror. Her soundtracks for both Pigs and Korsakovia are probably my favorite in any horror game.

I'd really love to see Korsakovia get remade, just so it doesn't go too much into obscurity. And I'd love a remastered soundtrack like Esther's.

RE: Everybody's Gone To Rapture Announced - Ghieri - 06-14-2014

I will admit that Jessica Curry's music brought AAMFP from mediocre writing. But I don't think Dan Pinchbeck is actually talented, he just stumbled across something that got attention and he's milking it. Like Pewdiepie is doing with LP's.

RE: Everybody's Gone To Rapture Announced - Froge - 06-14-2014

Currys music made AAMFP worse by complimenting the overdramatic and flowery writing. Not a single theme from AAMFP struck a resonant chord with me. On the other hand, the Cistern Entrance, Storage, and Nave ambiences from ATDD are very memorable, as well as that one theme that plays during each Shadow chase.

Love this one. So trapped and desolate.

Tarmia is particularly proficient at creating a mysterious, gloomy, and overall dreadful atmosphere, but he can also create some great melodic pieces (Daniel's theme / Alexander ending). Curry is rather dramatic and should stick to dramatic games.

13 minutes of new footage from the game, with Dan and Jess providing voice over:

Wow. I legitimately forgot this existed. It's been a while since I've heard anything from it.

Game looks great though.
