Amnesia does not run on Maverick? - davyvfr - 10-26-2013
Hello,
I have Amnesia Dark Descent for Steam and as soon as I upgraded to Maverick, it stopped working. I get an error that says it "cannot load main init file". I was able to find the file under Steam though so there is no reason for this. Can someone help?
Oddly, Bay of Pigs still works just fine.

I have the same problem
it worked just two days ago but I haven't been able to use it since I upgraded to OSX Maverick, and the thing is that I also own "Amnesia: A Machine For Pigs" and it works perfectly.Please! I want to use it again... AMFP is awesome too, but The Dark Descent is the best for me.

Yep, same problem. Good to know Amnesia Bay Of Pigs works because that works for me too.

Another one here!! Nor Penumbra Collection (Overture, Black Pague, Requiem) or Amnesia The Dark Descent works on the new OS Mavericks in Mac... You are going to have to make an upgrade. That would be great.

Another Mavericks complaint here. I just bought it for my daughter as a gift (she's into video games and I wanna keep her into them because it's something we can share). Can someone from Frictional speak up and let us know what to expect?

Mavericks was released after the release of the Penumbra and Amnesia series. Being incompatible was not expected. Fixes/updates are on the way to fix the Mavericks issue. Some time is required though.
