I sent a License request to the small indie band I was thinking about ^^. We'll see how it turns out, I already did it months ago and did not get an answer, but back then I did not have anything to show. Hopefully I'll get an answer this time : D.

Just look at White Night, Mental Memorial, plus all those other modern day mods. I think you can answer your own question

As far as FG models/assets are concerned, you can use them on custom stories etc which use the HPL engine and the final product if free (no monetization).
