Games crashes on certain sound?! - aim4this@gmail.com - 09-11-2014

Hello,

I just bought Amnesia AMFP off the app store. I got to the part where you see the pig for the second time. (under the church, at the cages).

Right at this point the Pig makes a sound, and my game crashes EVERYTIME. I have tried changing alot of the video settings without any luck.

Im playing on the MacBook Pro Retina 15" Late 2013 with OSX Yosemite beta2.

I spend a fair amount of money on this game and at this point i have been playing for 15-20mins in total.

Please help Smile

This thread talks a lot about the same issue. I don't think a solution has been found yet though :/

It seems to only happen to the Mac App Store copy of the game.

By the sound of it, this only happens to the MAS copy. It might work fine if you get it on Steam.

Probably it hasn't been tested on Yosemite yet. If you can, try updating back to Mavericks. Smile

Post the message that is in the 'FATAL ERROR' box. Go under the church, and make it crash again. Then, reply and copy what the error message is.

I'd rather not update to Mavericks, because going back is a huge pain. It involves reformatting the entire hard drive, which would wipe all my files as well as my Windows partition. Reinstalling all that takes over a day. Right now I prefer sticking to Mountain Lion as it's a more stable and less buggy OS. Well, I don't think Mavericks is very buggy anymore, but not everything I use today I can confirm to work on Mavericks.

I think the only appeal for me to update to Mavericks is the ability to use Airplay and Apple TV as a secondary monitor.
