After changing video card still have Fps Drops and Performance issues - André Campana - 01-14-2015

Well, i've already opened a thread before, because i was getting performance issues and fps drops on Amnesia TDD, but you guys said that my video card was too weak, now i've changed my video and i still have the same problem if using V-Sync turned on, and i lot of screen tearing if disabled

PC Specs:

Core i3-530 2.93GHz (O.C 3.6GHz)
6Gb of RAM
500Gb Samsung HD502HI 5400RPM 3.5" Sata 2
XfX R7 250X 1Gb GDDR5 128-Bit (Relaunched Radeon HD7770)

What are you using to measure the fps count in the game?

RE: After changing video card still have Fps Drops and Performance issues - André Campana - 01-15-2015

the game's own fps counter and either i can see it even with nothing counting the fps and as i've mentioned, if i enable V-Sync the problem occurs, if i disable it, i got a LOT of screen tearing that gives me headaches, c'mon, i can run bf3 on ultra at 720p at 50 fps with no lag not even fps drops, and i can't run amnesia, that has models with miserable 800 polygons most of them with 256x256 textures, you gotta be joking me

For some v-sync works that it runs 60 only if it is capable of running at 60 or above. If the fps drops to 59.9 it will go down to 30 fps. You can try to disable limitfps, as I said in the other thread, and leave v-sync active.

Otherwise you have to find the cause for why your computer/settings only allow 60 or 30 fps. Or play with vsync disabled.

So it's an engine bug that is happening on my rig right? Because i've formatted my computer 4 days ago, and i'm still with same issue even with the new videocard. But anyway, thanks very much. You guys from Frictional Games are the best! I'll try it out and post the results

What happens if you force Vsync on from the GPU's own settings? Dead Space used to run 30 fps if you put Vsync on from game settings but workaround fix was that you use GPU control panel instead.

Don't max out SSAO samples! Set it to 4.
