There's the thread that Romulator mentioned and also the one I made before I replayed the game.
To answer your question, nope! But even if the concept of it were still used, it would've just been a dream/nightmare sequence for Simon, sans the brain-in-a-jar part. And it would've been in an ugly, decaying version of his apartment, not the place in the teaser.
