Regional prices in steam - Snowfall - 10-01-2015

Hello developers from frictional games. Publishers often use a function of regional prices in steam and set low prices for Russia, but still normal prices and regional restriction for CIS. Please change prices for CIS, because we don't have so much money like people in North America or West Europe and we can't pay 20-30$ for games, but we would be happy to buy games at lower prices. Thanks for reading, sorry for my terrible English.

The game already is much cheaper in CIS compared to the normal price of the game. If memory is correct it costs 17.99 USD with in the CIS, the normal price is 29.99 USD.

The price for Russia is 500 rubles. Is it ok?

RE: Regional prices in steam - jens - 10-01-2015

Yes, we don't modify any prices all are default values. Russian price extra cheap due to the value decline of the ruble.

But the price should be set depending on the purchasing power of the region? I live in Uzbekistan and I paid to my ISP 30$ for 512 kilobits per second with limit 30GB. We simply have no way to buy a game for $ 18, while people in Russia with a good salary paid for this game is almost 2 times less just because ruble fell again.

You did request GOG to disable gifting tho >_>

RE: Regional prices in steam - jens - 10-05-2015

Yup, got forced to as GOG reported heavy abuse of gifts that got resold on key seller sites at a higher price.
