I watched your review of Metro 2033 and I really liked it.
You chose some great gameplay scenes and I like your voice/the way you speak.

I can't wait any longer!

I finished my review of Amnesia today. The video isn't finished encoding yet but it'll go up on YouTube in like an hour. None of you need this but whatever. http://liopleurodons.blogspot.com/2010/09/i-review-amnesia-dark-descent.html

Just watched your review of Amnesia. A good review but too long to keep the average attention span.
If you don't mind the critique...
.. No more then 4 mins - otherwise it becomes a long winded walkthru' with spoilers.
You showed me a lot more of that monster then I saw when I played.
When I played I barely got more than a glimpse or two.

As you are aiming for a reviewers place on Youtube (great!) Keep the reviews shorter or you'll miss an audience that has a shorter attention span, which is probably most viewers.
Overall? Way too long but tons of well worded sentences explaining both the game and it's intent. Well written, clearly spoken and interesting.
Sum it up: You are a good reviewer in need of a good editor.

RE: Amateur reviewer looking for audience - Sexbad - 09-20-2010

I will never ever shorten my reviews to something shorter than I feel they need to be. I feel as though I do this not for the views but because I can't not do it. Views, if any, are just a side effect. I like to feel like a philosopher of sorts with interest in game design. I can't go nearly as in-depth if I give myself a limit.

The monster, I actually thought that it wasn't shown that much in the video.

Not bad. You've definitely got me interested in the game; unfortunately I'll have to wait until I can upgrade my computer, to run it. Try to keep your reviews tightly-written, if you can. Depth is good but the review I read on your blog was rather long-winded and didn't have much content. Still, you must have done something right because I really want to play the game now.

RE: Amateur reviewer looking for audience - Sexbad - 01-31-2011

I assume you read one of my older posts, because the review I just put up is one of my least favorite games of all time. But yeah, a few of my older reviews are boring as shit and I intend to redo them.

RE: Amateur reviewer looking for audience - Tintin - 01-31-2011

Sorry, yes, the review I read was for Cryostasis. Have you tried the Thief games? They're very different but have excellent stories and gameplay (although they're rather ancient games now).

RE: Amateur reviewer looking for audience - Sexbad - 01-31-2011

I have heard that they're really great, but I think the run on the same engine as System Shock 2, which doesn't work on my computer. Someday I'm probably going to get a spare shitbox computer to play all these old games that people recommend for me.
