All present and correct here.

Now I need to wait till I'm alone and the sun has gone down. I might surround my computer table with old sheep skulls with candles in their eye sockets, and shovel some dirt around my feet. Leave all the windows and doors wide open so that the chill wind whistles through my house, making me shiver at my computer. Then put a sign in front of my home saying, 'feel free to come in and take my furniture'. And while I'm playing Amnesia I detect intruders in my peripheral vision, I back flip over my swivel chair and thrash them with my sword staff, then chain them to my desk and have them nibble at my shins while I play.

I believe this is the way the developers intended it to be experienced Smile

Lol, I downloaded the game in steam (with only 40kb/s, so it was a pain waiting) and for some reason it says: "This game is not ready to start" or something like that, so I downloaded from the Shelf (again, at 40-50 kb/s) and FINALLY I can play the game! Geez,... F**k steam, I'm getting tired of that service... there's nothing better than installing a game normally Tongue

THANKS FRICTIONAL GAMES! THIS GAME ROCKS Cool

Hi everybody!

This is necessary to activate it on Steam to play at this game?

RE: Amnesia: The Dark Descent is out now! - jens - 09-08-2010

If you want to play on Steam yes. But if you just want to play the game, with no Steam involved, then no.

I also pre-loaded a copy from Steam yesterday after I activated my key. Today, I launched it and Steam began decrypting. After the decryption was done, a relatively small 260MB download began. I noticed that the commentary, among other things, was downloaded during this time. So all appears to be fixed up on the Steam end.

Thanks, Frictional! All I'm hearing are glowing reviews about this. I try not to read too much because I like a pure experience, but I'll finish with how RPS concluded their review of Amnesia:
Quote:I cannot recommend it enough. So long as you don’t mind being utterly bloody terrified.

Also, the download just finished. OMGOMGOMG. Later.

Jens,

login went fine
got both keys
downloaded the Linux version at around 3000kb/s (my account max)
key got accepted by the installer
installation went fine, menu entries where made under KDE4

so I am off now to be never heard off Smile Hope this will become a huge success for you.

I would think you need to ask Steam ?
